Established in 2021 as an Incorporated Society the Artificial Intelligence Researchers Association (AIRA) is a not-for-profit representative body established to support the production and dissemination of artificial intelligence research. 

The Association will connect, support and provide a voice for the artificial intelligence research community, with all its sub-disciplines, to position Aotearoa New Zealand as a frontrunner internationally in leveraging this transformational technology to benefit society.

Annual conference

Our annual conference is intended to be the usual meeting point of the artificial intelligence research community with the main goal of the event being to foster discussion around the latest advances in artificial intelligence. 

The 5th annual Artificial Intelligence Researchers Association Conference will be hosted by University of Otago.
